Rs507.6m grant released for FUUAST dues
.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has released a grant of Rs507.6 million for the payment of salaries and outstanding dues of teachers and employees of the Federal Urdu University, following directives from Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
The move came after delegations of the university's teachers and staff met the minister in recent days, apprising him of the institution's deteriorating financial condition and delays in the payment of dues. The delegations had urged the government to release funds on an urgent basis.
Acting on the concerns, the HEC issued the grant to ensure immediate disbursement of salaries and other pending payments.
Following the release, Dr Siddiqui directed the university's vice chancellor to take steps to improve academic standards, enhance student enrolment, and resolve issues faced by faculty and staff on a priority basis.
