KARACHI:

An anti-corruption court has sought a detailed report from the additional inspector general (AIG) of Sindh police over allegations of corruption and the illegal deployment of police personnel to provide security to influential people and builders.

The court took up a complaint filed by advocate Ghulam Akbar Jatoi, who alleged widespread irregularities in the police security wing. The complaint names several officials, including DIG Security Dr Maqsood Memon and SP Security-I Mahmood Rajput.

As per the complaint, around 100 police personnel have been deployed to provide security to influential figures, builders, and other privileged groups.
