Remand extended in foreign women's case

LAHORE:

A judicial magistrate on Saturday granted the police five-day physical remand of three suspects in a case of alleged abduction, sexual assault and robbery involving two foreign women.

Judicial Magistrate Azhar Mahmood issued the order after the suspects Rizwan, Nasir and Nawaz were produced before the court under strict security with their faces covered.

During the hearing, the investigating officer told the court that the suspects' medical examinations had been completed, but the recovery of items related to the case was pending. The police said a gold ring and a wristwatch linked to the case had yet to be found.

The court approved a further five-day physical remand.
