KARACHI:

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has welcomed the effective coordination between the federal and Sindh governments to address the challenges posed by monsoon rains, floods, heatwaves, and other climate-related hazards, saying that the provincial government is fully prepared to protect the lives and property of the people and respond to natural disasters.

In a statement, he said that a meeting chaired by the Sindh chief minister reviewed the province's preparedness for the 2026 monsoon season, emerging climate-related risks, and other related issues in detail. He said that advance planning, timely decision-making, and the use of modern technology to tackle natural disasters are the need of the hour.

Sharjeel said that the launch of the Next Generation Early Warning System and Predictive Disaster Intelligence System is a major breakthrough in Pakistan's disaster management framework.
