G-B court axes PPP's Nashad
The Gilgit-Baltistan Supreme Appellate Court on Thursday disqualified PPP candidate Fida Muhammad Nashad, ruling that he had failed to disclose his assets in the nomination papers.
The court overturned an earlier G-B Chief Court verdict that had cleared him to participate in the elections.
Nashad's nomination papers were first rejected by the returning officer (RO), after which he appealed the decision before the election tribunal.
The tribunal upheld the RO's ruling, leading Nashad to file a petition with the G-B Chief Court, which later cleared him to contest the elections.
