SHANGLA:

Awami National Party (ANP) has categorically rejected the imposition of any form of taxation in Malakand Division, declaring it unconstitutional and contrary to the region's special legal and historical status.

Addressing a crowded press conference at Shangla Press Club Alpuri on Thursday, ANP Provincial Deputy General Secretary Sikandar Shehzad Khan Advocate announced that the party would launch a mass protest movement if the federal and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa governments failed to immediately withdraw the tax enforcement decision.

"The ANP will not accept any tax or customs act in Malakand Division because this region enjoys a distinct constitutional and historical status," Khan asserted.
