RAWALPINDI:

The trend of operating armed gangs in Rawalpindi has yet to end, with white luxury vehicles replacing the black pickups previously associated with such groups despite claims by the Crime Control Department (CCD) and Punjab Police.

The consequence of an alleged gang rivalry reached Chaklala Scheme III, where one group's leader is reportedly abroad while another remains active in Rawalpindi.

Armed men travelling in several luxury vehicles allegedly raided the house of their rivals in the Chaklala police limits. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, and police have registered a case.

According to sources, Chaklala police registered a case on the complaint of house resident Mohammad Aitizaz under sections relating to criminal intimidation and other offences.

The complainant stated that around 10 vehicles stopped outside his house and 25 to 30 people got out. Their faces were covered, some of them were armed, and they assaulted a household employee while recording the incident on mobile phones.

A CCTV footage has surfaced, showing armed men standing outside the house alongside a convoy of luxury vehicles.
