Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley reportedly split over communication and decision-making issues

'Communication was definitely a challenge', sources close to the former couple claim

Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley reportedly experienced ongoing communication difficulties before separating after less than three years of marriage, according to new claims published by Page Six.

A source told the publication that differences in communication and decision-making contributed to tensions in the relationship.

“Jack could be very particular about how he liked things,” the source said. “He’d often prefer for things to be done the way he thought was best, and Margaret didn’t always feel like her perspective was being heard or given the same weight.”

The insider added, “Communication was definitely a challenge between him and Margaret.”

News of the reported separation emerged on Wednesday. Another source told People that the relationship had been “rocky”, while adding the pair were “figuring things out”.

The couple, who married in August 2023, fuelled speculation after Antonoff attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding celebrations without Qualley earlier this month. Antonoff was accompanied by his sister, Rachel Antonoff, at both the rehearsal dinner and wedding.

Further speculation followed reports that Qualley had wrapped filming on King Snake in June and was not due to begin work on her next project, Possession, until later, despite earlier suggestions that filming commitments explained her absence.

Fans had also noticed several changes to Qualley's social media activity in recent months. In April, she changed her Instagram username from @isimostar, a reference to Antonoff's song "Isimo", to @sarahmargaretqualley23.

Bleachers also reportedly removed the song "Margaret", which was inspired by Qualley, from its "Bleachers Forever" tour setlist after its performance on June 13.

On Wednesday, fans observed that Qualley had removed most photographs featuring Antonoff from her Instagram account, although the pair continue to follow each other. They were last seen together publicly at the Grammy Awards in February.
