Rally marks 10th death anniversary of Burhan Wani

Procession began at the ACP, Karachi and concluded at the city Press Club

KARACHI:

Thousands of people participated in a rally in Karachi on Wednesday to mark the 10th death anniversary of Burhan Muzaffar Wani, with participants expressing solidarity with the people of Kashmir and calling for the implementation of the Kashmiri people's right to self-determination in accordance with United Nations resolutions.

The rally was organised by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan chapter, under the leadership of its Convener, Ghulam Muhammad Safi. It drew representatives from political, religious, social, student, legal, business and Kashmiri organisations, along with members of civil society.

The procession began at the ACP, Karachi and concluded at the city Press Club. Participants carried Pakistani and Kashmiri flags, portraits of Burhan Wani, and banners and placards supporting the right to self-determination. They also chanted slogans expressing support for the Kashmiri cause throughout the march. Leaders of several political and religious parties, lawyers, journalists, human rights activists and members of the Hindu community, also participated.
