Country music star Nate Smith has revealed how losing more than 70 pounds has transformed his daily life, health and live performances as he continues working towards his long-term fitness goal.

In an interview with People, the 40-year-old singer said the physical changes have made everyday tasks significantly easier and improved his stamina on stage.

"I don’t sweat anymore, which is amazing," Smith said. "I used to be totally out of breath tying my shoes. I can jump around a lot more."

Smith explained that maintaining his fitness has also enhanced his performances, allowing him to deliver more energetic shows for audiences.

"Keeping the energy on stage and making sure I do that, because I think that takes care of the fans," he said while attending the Sports Illustrated and Tight End University's Tight Ends & Friends Concert in Nashville on June 23.

The singer also said his weight loss has given him greater confidence in his appearance and wardrobe.

"I just feel better. It’s nice to be able to wear clothes that I like," Smith said before adding, "This is a large. I’ve been double X for the last five or six years, so I’m feeling really good."

Despite already losing more than 70 pounds, Smith said he hopes to reduce his weight further.

"I think I want to get under 200 lbs.," he said. "So I was like 275 lbs., somewhere in that world. But I want to get down to like 185 lbs. again."

The milestone follows a social media update in May, when Smith shared before-and-after photographs after losing 71 pounds, writing,"Another milestone reached today….. 😭😭😭😭😭."

According to the report, Smith previously revealed that his health journey began in November 2024 after suffering a severe upper respiratory infection, prompting him to reassess his eating and drinking habits and prioritise his long-term wellbeing.
