Over 24 illegal LPG filling points sealed

More than 24 illegal LPG filling points operating across the district were sealed during a joint operation, authorities said.

Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Secretary Nazar Hussain said the operation was carried out in collaboration with the relevant departments.

During the inspection, officials found several illegal LPG filling points where gas was being filled into vehicle cylinders in violation of safety regulations.

He said the outlets were sealed immediately, and their owners were issued strict warnings against continuing such illegal practices in the future.

During the operation, inspectors also found that several workshops lacked adequate safety equipment, while some were using expired or substandard materials for LPG refilling, posing serious risks to public safety.

Authorities also imposed fines on the owners of the illegal LPG filling points for violating safety regulations and overcharging customers for LPG refilling.
