Alleged 'criminal' killed in encounter

A 'highly dangerous' criminal wanted in 25 serious cases was killed during a police operation in Peshawar on Saturday.

According to police, the deceased, identified as Azmat alias Azmaty son of Hidayatullah, was a hardened offender sought by police stations across Peshawar, Nowshera, and Bannu districts.

He faced multiple charges including murder, attempted murder, attacks on police personnel, robbery, dacoity, drug trafficking, illegal weapons possession, and other grave offences. Police spokesman said that during the raid, Azmat and his accomplices opened fire on a police party with clear intent to kill. Law enforcers retaliated promptly.
