Guidelines for setting up varsities reviewed

DPM/FM Ishaq Dar on Wednesday reviewed the existing guidelines for the establishment of universities and higher education institutions in Pakistan.

The committee reviewed the draft 2026 HEC Regulatory Framework for the Establishment and Accreditation of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Pakistan.

The relevant stakeholders provided a detailed briefing to the Committee about this policy.

Meanwhile, Dar chaired the 6th meeting of the High-Level Committee for the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women which will be hosted by Pakistan from July 12–13, 2026.
