Electric Green Bus service rolls into Khanewal

The Punjab government on Wednesday launched the Electric Green Bus Service in Khanewal.

The service was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Maliha Rashid, accompanied by Member of the National Assembly Muhammad Khan Daha, Provincial Parliamentary Secretary Rana Muhammad Saleem Hanif, and Members of the Provincial Assembly Asghar Hayat Hiraj and Chaudhry Ziaur Rehman.

In the first phase, nine electric buses will operate on the Khanewal-Kabirwala and Khanewal-Jahanian routes. To facilitate passengers, the district administration has also established 84 waiting shelters along the two routes.

The buses are equipped with modern facilities, including air conditioning, Wi-Fi, CCTV cameras, GPS-based tracking systems and comfortable seating, offering commuters a safe, affordable and environmentally friendly mode of transport.

Speaking at the inauguration, MNA Muhammad Khan Daha said the Punjab government was taking practical steps to provide citizens with modern public transport facilities.
