Poets honour Karbala martyrs

The Punjab Council of the Arts (PCA), Rawalpindi organised a Mehfil-e-Musallama in connection with the holy month of Muharram, bringing together prominent scholars, poets and literary figures to pay tribute to the martyrs of Karbala.
The event was presided over by renowned poet, writer and intellectual Professor Jaleel Aali, while eminent scholar Dr Farhat Abbas attended as the chief guest. The proceedings were conducted by noted poet Syed Mazhar Masood.
In his presidential address, Professor Jaleel Aali said Muharram teaches the enduring values of patience, perseverance, truth, sacrifice and righteousness. He said the tragedy of Karbala is not merely a historical event but an eternal message that inspires people across generations to uphold justice, dignity and moral courage.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Farhat Abbas paid tribute to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and the martyrs of Karbala, describing their sacrifice as a timeless symbol of justice, freedom, faith and steadfast commitment to truth. He said the teachings of Imam Hussain (RA) continue to inspire humanity and promote peace, tolerance, compassion and unity.
At the conclusion of the event, PCA Director Muhammad Shakoor thanked the presiding guest, chief guest, participating poets, writers, distinguished guests, media representatives and the audience.
