Non-bailable warrants for Afridi issued
The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad on Monday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi after he failed to appear in a case over allegedly spreading misleading claims against state institutions and damaging their reputation.
The case was heard by Senior Civil Judge Abbas Shah.
During the proceedings, the court took notice of Afridi's absence and issued non-bailable arrest warrants. The judge also directed law enforcement authorities to arrest the accused and present him before the court.
Afridi is facing legal proceedings in a case registered by the NCCIA under the PECA.
