Skepta has criticised the behaviour of several adults seen interacting with North West during Paris Fashion Week after videos of the 13-year-old surrounded by crowds circulated on social media.

The UK rapper said the footage highlighted the need to better respect children's personal boundaries.

The online discussion followed the release of videos showing North West, the daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, greeting attendees at Paris Fashion Week.

In one clip, an adult man appeared to hug the teenager after she extended her hand for a handshake. Another video showed a man placing his arm around her shoulder, with North appearing uncomfortable.

Reacting to the footage on X, Skepta wrote, "My fans know I try to stay out of people’s business but damn the way grown men, complete strangers, try to use North makes me sick."

After one social media user questioned whether hugging had become "a social offense", Skepta defended his position, replying, "What are you talking about?! She is 13 years old and she put her hand out for a handshake, you don’t ignore that. I can’t believe some these replies to my tweet."

The rapper also responded to a comment suggesting North had "basically skipped being a teenager", writing, "WOW!! 😢 Protect your kids people. Protect your kids!"

He concluded by stressing the importance of understanding non-verbal communication, stating, "Sickening 🤮 schools teaching French, German & English when really the language most people need to f**king learn is ‘Body Language’."

North West has attracted attention throughout Paris Fashion Week for her fashion choices, including several new facial piercings displayed during her appearance at the Vetements Menswear Spring/Summer 2027 show.
