A suspected shooter wanted in dozens of cases was killed during an alleged police encounter in Gulberb late on Saturday night.

Police said a team led by SHO Rana Abdul Ghaffar had set up a checkpoint near Kamalabad graveyard when two motorcyclists opened fire and attempted to flee.

During the exchange of fire, 37-year-old Ghulam Mohiuddin of Chak 55-JB Baba Bakala was injured, allegedly by gunfire from his accomplices. He was shifted to Allied Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
