Two held in student's rape, murder case

ABBOTTABAD:

A teenage seminary student hailing from the Usmanabad area of Abbottabad has been murdered in Swat following an alleged abduction and sexual assault, local authorities confirmed. Police have successfully apprehended two suspects nominated in the case.

According to police sources, the harrowing incident took place on June 24, 2026. A formal First Information Report (FIR) was registered the following day, June 25, at the Rahimabad Police Station in Swat.

The FIR states that the victim, a 16-to-17-year-old girl identified by her initial 'A', went missing in Peshawar after leaving her residence for her religious seminary. After her family alerted the police, the teenager was eventually traced to Swat, where she was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. She tragically succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

Initial police findings suggest that the suspects abducted the girl from Peshawar and transported her to Swat, where she was subjected to sexual assault.
