Man killed for resisting robbery

A man was shot dead after allegedly resisting a robbery in the jurisdiction of RA Bazaar Police Station. According to police, complainant Muhammad Ahmad said he and his father, Nasir Ahmad, were outside Azhar General Store when two armed men arrived on a motorcycle and demanded cash and valuables.
The shopkeeper handed over Rs5,000 from the cash register. The suspects then allegedly turned to Nisar Ahmad and demanded his cash and belongings at gunpoint.
Muhammad Ahmad told police that his father said he had nothing to hand over. Nisar Ahmad resisted when one of the suspects moved forward, prompting them to open fire. Nisar Ahmad sustained critical injuries and was shifted to hospital where he later succumbed to his wounds.
Police said they had initiated proceedings to add the murder charge to the robbery case.
