Ex-JPMorgan Chase executive's role and salary draw attention after viral Knicks bin incident

Angie Báez was caught on camera, emptying a limited-edition blue-and-orange public bin before walking away with it

Attention has shifted to Angie Báez’s professional background and estimated earnings after JPMorgan Chase confirmed her departure following a viral incident at New York City's Knicks championship parade.

According to the New York Post, Báez was identified as the woman seen in widely circulated videos emptying the contents of a limited-edition New York Knicks rubbish bin onto a Manhattan street before taking the bin with her.

Additional footage reportedly showed her travelling on public transport while carrying the item.

Following the incident, JPMorgan Chase confirmed that Báez was no longer employed by the company. A spokesperson told the publication, “This employee is no longer with the company.”

The 40-year-old had most recently served as Executive Director of Community and Industry Engagement for Card and Connected Commerce at JPMorgan Chase, a position she had held for more than a year.

Prior to that, she worked as Executive Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at The Infatuation, a New York-based food and restaurant review platform acquired by Chase.

While Báez’s salary and net worth have not been publicly disclosed, market commentator Jon Najarian offered an estimate based on publicly available compensation data.

Writing on X, he said, “Angie Báez was likely making around $250K–$350K+ in total annual compensation (base + bonus + equity) as an Executive Director at JPMorgan Chase in New York.”

The estimate has not been confirmed by JPMorgan Chase or Báez and remains speculative.

Báez was reportedly attending the parade in a personal capacity. No criminal charges have been announced in connection with the incident.
