Two bandits killed in encounter: CCD

LAHORE:

Two suspected robbers were killed while three others escaped during an alleged encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) near Rana Town.

According to police, the suspects were engaged in a robbery when a CCD team arrived at the scene.

Upon spotting the officers, the suspects allegedly opened fire, prompting retaliatory action. The two suspects were killed on the spot.

The police said their three accomplices managed to flee during the exchange of fire and a search operation was launched to arrest them.

Police officials said the deceased Umar Maqbool and Faisal had been involved in several criminal cases. They were also allegedly linked to a robbery reported a day earlier in which a citizen had been killed.
