93 outlaws arrested in week-long crackdown

HYDERABAD:

Police arrested 93 suspects and seized a large quantity of drugs, liquor, and gutka during operations conducted from June 15 to June 21.

According to a police spokesperson, the crackdown was carried out on the directives of SSP Hyderabad Shahzaib Chachar against criminals, drug dealers, gutka, mawa suppliers, proclaimed offenders, absconders, and other law violators.

The arrested included 7 suspects involved in street crime, 32 in drug peddling, 4 in theft cases, 1 motorcycle lifter, 22 in gutka-mawa sale, 15 in gambling, and 3 in other crimes.

Police also arrested two proclaimed offenders and seven absconders. Recovered items included 4 pistols with 21 bullets, 1,995 mawa pouches, 13,015 gutka sachets and 1 carton of raw mawa material, 263 bottles of liquor, 48 litres of illicit liquor, 1.096 kg of bhang, and 10.214 kg of charas.

SSP Chachar said indiscriminate operations against criminal elements will continue to ensure protection of citizens' life and property.
