Sharjeel highlights BB's democratic struggle

Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said on Sunday that the birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Jamhooriat Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto is being observed with deep respect and solemnity, as the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) marks the occasion in light of the sanctity of Muharram-ul-Haram.

Speaking to the media at the Sindh Assembly media corner, he said that Benazir Bhutto, widely remembered as the 'daughter of the east,' stood firm against the darkness of dictatorship with courage, resilience and unwavering determination, leaving behind a legacy of democratic struggle that remains unmatched in regional political history. He said Shaheed Benazir Bhutto devoted her life to strengthening democracy, protecting public rights and resisting authoritarian rule. Even during imprisonment and political persecution, she never abandoned her commitment to democratic principles, he added.
