DERA GHAZI KHAN:

Continuous rainfall in the Koh-e-Sulaiman range and surrounding areas has caused flooding in streams and hill torrents across Dera Ghazi Khan, damaging houses, disrupting communication links and affecting daily life in several areas.

A major flood surge of around 25,000 cusecs passed through Wadoor stream, cutting off road connectivity with the city. Water entered several low-lying areas, including Chhatri Kanda and Basti Bara, where multiple houses collapsed and wheat stocks and other agricultural produce stored inside homes were washed away.

Residents of the affected areas expressed concern over the financial losses and appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for immediate intervention and an emergency relief package. They said their houses, livestock, wheat stocks and valuables had been damaged by the floodwaters and urged authorities to launch relief activities.
