Young man killedresisting robbery

KARACHI:

A young man was shot dead by robbers in Abdullah Goth, Shah Latif Town, bringing the number of citizens killed this year while resisting street crime in the city to 39.

According to police, the incident occurred on Wednesday morning when three armed men on a motorcycle intercepted three pedestrians on their way to work. The deceased was identified as 19-year-old Syed Muhammad Rizwan.

His family said their ancestral home was in Bahawalpur. Rizwan's brother Sultan told police that he, his brother and brother-in-law were walking when the suspects snatched their mobile phones at gunpoint. Rizwan threw stones at the robbers when he saw the holdup, after which the men opened fire and fled.
