Filming for the movie sequel to The Summer I Turned Pretty has begun in the historic seaside town of Plymouth, Massachusetts, with production drawing attention from fans of the popular Amazon Prime series, The Boston Globe reports.

The production is taking place across several central locations, including Main Street and Court Street during daytime hours, with additional night shoots planned for Leyden Street.

Local authorities confirmed that filming runs from noon until 11pm on Tuesday, with parking restrictions and temporary road closures affecting access in parts of the town.

The Plymouth Center for the Arts reported that production crews were seen setting up at 10 North Street earlier in the day, as the area was transformed for filming.

The working production title has been listed as “Keeping Score,” with residents encouraged to contact the production team for enquiries.

Fans shared footage on social media, in which Belly and Conrad, played by Lola Tung and Christopher Briney, were spotted strolling down the the streets while holding hands.

The project, often filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina, follows Isabel “Belly” and her emotional love triangle with brothers Conrad and Jeremiah.

The story, created by Jenny Han, is based on her bestselling book series and is widely associated with fictional Cousins Beach, inspired by coastal New England.

The series previously urged fans not to visit active filming locations, stating, “please help us protect the magic of Cousins until it’s ready to be shared.”

It added, “We love the excitement, but sharing locations and visiting set disrupts filming and creates real safety concerns for our cast and crew. We’re working hard to create a protected bubble to make the best movie possible.”
