Strong winds to lash Karachi till Tuesday
The Meteorological Department has forecast stronger-than-usual winds across the city until Tuesday, bringing a brief spell of relief from persistent heat while also raising the possibility of dusty gusts in parts of the metropolis.
According to the Early Warning Centre of the Pakistan Meteorological Department, moderate to strong sea breezes are expected to continue, with wind speeds likely to increase up to 50 km/h from the southwest. At times, dusty winds may also sweep through certain areas.
The winds are expected to slightly lower temperatures, resulting in comparatively mild weather conditions over the next three days. The maximum temperature is likely to remain between 34°C and 36°C during this period.
Humidity levels are forecast to stay relatively high in the mornings, around 75 per cent, while dropping to nearly 60 per cent in the evening. Despite the strong winds, the heat index is expected to remain balanced due to the coastal breeze effect.
