Anna Faris reflects on 'sad' Chris Pratt divorce eight years after split
Faris revealed that one of the things that helped her navigate the period was her podcast, 'Anna Faris Is Unqualified'

Anna Faris has shared a rare and candid insight into her divorce from Chris Pratt, opening up about the emotional toll of the end of their marriage nearly eight years after the couple parted ways.
Speaking in a recent interview with Variety, the actress admitted she was left feeling “sad” during the breakdown of her relationship with Pratt, whom she married in 2009. The former couple, who share son Jack, announced their separation on August 6, 2017, before finalising their divorce in October, 2018.
Faris revealed that one of the things that helped her navigate the difficult period was her podcast, Anna Faris Is Unqualified. While she largely avoided discussing the details of her personal life on the show, she said the project gave her a sense of connection and purpose at a time when she was struggling emotionally.
The Scary Movie star explained that creating the podcast allowed her to build a community outside the traditional Hollywood sphere and provided an outlet during one of the most challenging chapters of her life. She also reflected on the pressures of fame, acknowledging that decades in the entertainment industry had inevitably shaped her experience while insisting she was determined not to let public scrutiny define her.
Faris and Pratt first met in 2007 while filming Take Me Home Tonight and welcomed their son in August, 2012. Despite their high-profile split, the pair have maintained an amicable co-parenting relationship in the years since their divorce.
Both stars have since moved on with new marriages. Pratt married Katherine Schwarzenegger on June 8, 2019, and the couple now share three children. Faris married cinematographer Michael Barrett in 2021.
Although Faris has rarely spoken publicly about her divorce from Pratt, her latest comments offer a glimpse into the personal challenges she faced behind the scenes and the coping mechanisms that helped her move forward following the end of one of Hollywood’s most beloved marriages.
