Bugti promises people-centric budget
Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Saturday pledged to present a balanced and realistic provincial budget for 2026-27 that reflects the aspirations of the people while promoting sustainable development across the province.
Chairing a consultative meeting of the parliamentary committee at the Chief Minister's Secretariat, Bugti said the budget would be prepared through broad-based consultation and would address the needs of all regions of Balochistan. He stressed that all stakeholders would be taken into confidence during the budget-making process to ensure transparency and consensus.
The meeting was attended by parliamentary leaders representing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Awami National Party (ANP). Participants reviewed preparations for the upcoming provincial budget and exchanged recommendations on key development priorities and public welfare initiatives.
Discussions focused on critical sectors including education, healthcare, clean drinking water, communications, energy, civic amenities and basic infrastructure. The chief minister said the government's primary objective was to formulate a people-friendly budget that remains aligned with the province's economic realities while delivering tangible benefits to citizens.
Bugti said special emphasis would be placed on public welfare, employment generation, strengthening of social sectors and improvement of infrastructure. "The government's focus is on projects that directly improve people's lives and contribute to the province's economic and social progress," he remarked.
