Man arrested in inquiry linked to gang-rape FIR

Police claimed to have arrested a man and registered a case against him under the Anti-Rape Act after an inquiry into a gang-rape FIR led investigators to question the allegations contained in the complaint.

Police said a gang-rape case was registered at Saddar Kabirwala police station on the complaint of a woman who nominated her husband, Imran, a Multan resident Basit Haroon and two unidentified persons as suspects.

During the course of the investigation, police said efforts were made to contact the complainant for further inquiry and identification of the nominated suspects.
