Actor Naeema Butt has released a strong open message on social media, addressing what she described as harassment, blackmail, and abuse, while also announcing a musical response titled Faqeera in collaboration with rappers Bumb Shah and M Low.
In her post, the actor and activist declared that “truth is our weapon,” directly addressing what she called “every harasser, blackmailer, and abuser.”
She wrote that “at the end of the day, we are victorious, here and hereafter,” adding that while oppressors may impact reputations or mental wellbeing, they “will never crush our soul or stop our mission.”
She added that she has worked closely with survivors and has consistently advocated for stronger protections for vulnerable groups.
Reflecting on her activism, she claimed she was forced to leave the country after publicly supporting a ban on open acid sales eight years ago, saying she faced backlash for her stance.
She further said recent events prompted her to speak again about her personal experiences.
She also spoke about broader industry dynamics, saying jealousy and rivalry can sometimes lead to attempts to damage reputations.
Addressing violence against women, Naeema said repeated incidents involving acid attacks and targeted abuse often silence those who speak out, adding that such actions must not be normalised.
She said the song is dedicated to women who “stand on righteousness without fear of anyone but Allah,” and encouraged them to continue asserting their rights and identities despite adversity.
The track, she added, also serves as a broader artistic statement against attempts to silence women in the entertainment industry.
