Two killed, four injured in multiple police encounters
Authorities shifted bodies, injured suspects to hospitals, initiated legal proceedings

Two alleged robbers were killed and four others injured in six separate police encounters in Faisalabad, police said on Tuesday.
Authorities have shifted the bodies and injured suspects to hospitals and initiated legal proceedings.
Police said the first incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Airport Police Station when Sub-Inspector Adnan Mughal, in-charge of Sabzi Mandi police post, was returning with suspect Naveed, after recovering a snatched motorcycle linked to a robbery case.
Police said that near the Abbaspur Road drain, four armed accomplices allegedly intercepted the police party, freed the suspect and fled.
Upon receiving information, Airport Police Station SHO Sub-Inspector Saqib Riaz and other officers reached the scene and pursued the suspects.
Police claimed that when the suspects were surrounded and asked to surrender, they opened fire on the police party.
During the ensuing exchange of fire, Naveed was allegedly struck by bullets fired by his own accomplices.
He was shifted to hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.
Police stated that Naveed had a criminal record involving more than 32 cases and was being transported after recovery proceedings when his accomplices attempted to rescue him.
A case has been registered and efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspects.
