Cop shot dead over land dispute; killing caught on CCTV

31-year-old Khalid Marri sustained fatal gunshot in his head, died on spot while brother-in-law was injured

HYDERABAD:

A cop was shot dead in Mirpurkhas district on Monday allegedly over a land dispute as the entire scene of the horrific killing has been captured on a CCTV camera in the city's Gulshan-e-Haider area. Town police station SHO Kamran Halepoto informed that 31-year-old Khalid Marri sustained a fatal gunshot in his head and died on spot while his brother-in-law was injured in the assault.

SHO Halepoto added that the police have arrested some of the suspects who have been blamed by Marri's family for the cold-blooded murder. The CCTV footage shows a few persons intercepting Khalid who was going to his job on his motorbike. Another motorbike came in high speed from behind and hit both Marri and his brother-in-law, throwing them on the ground. A person is subsequently seen firing gunshots on the cop point blank.

Marri's elder brother was also martyred in a 2015-police encounter with a gang of dacoits in Mirpurkhas.
