The first recoupling of Love Island USA Season 8 delivered a major shake-up in the villa, resulting in the season’s first elimination and a completely refreshed set of couples.

The latest episode centred on the arrival of bombshell contestant Corbin Mimis, whose entrance altered existing relationships and placed several Islanders at risk.

Hosted by Ariana Madix, the recoupling introduced an unexpected twist that changed the course of the evening.

Although the women were originally expected to choose their partners, Ariana announced that Corbin would be given the first selection. The newcomer chose Kenzie Annis, citing the strongest connection with her, immediately disrupting other potential pairings.

The decision left several contestants vulnerable, particularly Sean Reifel, who had entered the villa on day one.

Sean initially coupled up with Beatriz Hatz before she formed a connection with Gabriel Vasconcelos. He later attempted to explore a relationship with Kenzie, but Corbin’s arrival further complicated his position in the villa.

As the recoupling continued, the remaining women selected their preferred partners, leaving Sean as the only contestant without a match. Under the show's rules, being left single meant immediate elimination.

Ariana then confirmed Sean’s departure, making him the first Islander dumped from the villa in Season 8.

Following the recoupling, the new couples are Corbin Mimis and Kenzie Annis, Aniya Harvey and KC Chandler, Melanie Moreno and Sincere Rhea, Kayda Bosse and Zach Georgiou, Beatriz Hatz and Gabriel Vasconcelos, and Trinity Tatum and Bryce Dettloff.

With alliances shifting and new relationships forming, the latest episode has set the stage for further drama as the competition continues.

Love Island USA premieres new episodes daily, except Wednesdays, on Peacock at 9pm ET/6pm PT.
