Heavy vehicle accident claims two more lives

Two young motorcyclists were killed on Sunday when a speeding truck struck their bike near Maripur Hawksbay, police said.

SHO Maripur Muhammad Aslam said the accident occurred when a truck collided with the motorcycle. Both riders were thrown off and died at the spot.

Rescue teams and police reached the site after being alerted and shifted the bodies to Civil Hospital Karachi in an Edhi ambulance for medico-legal formalities.

Police officials said the motorcyclists were riding at high speed, but initial investigation suggested negligence by the truck driver caused the crash.

Acting swiftly, police arrested the driver, identified as Imran son of Allah Jodiyo, from the scene. The truck was seized and taken to Maripur police station for further inspection.

The deceased were identified as Cameron son of Salamat and Faisal son of Ilyas.

Relatives reached the hospital after being informed and completed identification procedures. Police registered a case against the driver and started further investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
