RAWALPINDI:

A large-scale crackdown against quackery is underway across Murree. According to an official, a targeted operation was conducted under the supervision of Murree Deputy District Health Officer Dr Maryam Ali Abbasi in various areas, resulting in the sealing of multiple illegal clinics and quack medical centres.

Health department teams carried out inspections in areas including Ghora Gali, Mullah Bazaar, Kunda Bazaar, Manga, and Jhika Gali, where several unlicensed establishments were found providing medical services without proper authorization.

During the operation, the illegal clinics were immediately sealed, while challans against the responsible individuals have been forwarded to the Punjab Healthcare Commission for further legal action.

Official said surveillance against quackery has been intensified across the district to ensure the provision of quality healthcare services to the public.

He warned that unqualified and unregistered individuals offering medical treatment not only violate the law but also pose a serious risk to human lives.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Maryam stated that quackery is a major challenge and a serious threat to public health.
