Gang-rape case registered in Gujarpura

LAHORE:

Gujarpura police registered a case of gang rape against three men after a video related to the incident surfaced nearly a month after the event.

According to the FIR, the victim was allegedly intercepted while on her way home and taken to fields where she was subjected to gang rape by the suspects.

The suspects nominated in the case are Abdullah, Adnan and Mubashir. The incident had reportedly occurred about a month ago within the jurisdiction of Gujarpura police station.

Police officials said that the case was registered following the emergence of the video. Investigations have been initiated, but none of the suspects have been arrested so far. The police said raids were under way to apprehend them.

A few days back, death sentences handed down to prime suspect Abid Malhi and his accomplice for the gang rape of a woman whose vehicle had broken down on a motorway en route to Gujranwala from Lahore near Karol Ghatti had been upheld.

The fresh incident hss been reported from the same area.

The previous incident had gained international attention.
