SHEC launches bolockchain skill development programme

KARACHI:

The Sindh Higher Education Commission (SHEC) has launched a Blockchain Skills Development Initiative across the province to promote digital skills among students and align them with emerging technologies.

The initiative is being introduced under the Directorate of Strategic Planning of SHEC, aiming to equip university students with industry-relevant skills in blockchain technology and digital innovation.

Under the programme, SHEC will provide an 85% scholarship, while students will contribute the remaining 15%, amounting to only Rs5,000. The total cost per student is Rs33,300.

According to the announcement, four major universities have been selected as partner institutions: NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi, Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) Jamshoro, and Sukkur IBA University.
