Accomplices injure two suspected criminals
Two suspected robbers were arrested after being injured in police encounters in the Shahdara and Ravi Road areas. Reportedly, Shahdara police were on routine patrol when they signalled three suspicious men to stop.
The suspects allegedly opened fire on the police who returned fire. After the crossfire ended, one of the suspects, Shehroz, was found injured. Investigators said he was struck by gunfire from his accomplices during the encounter.
The police said preliminary investigations had revealed that the suspect had allegedly been involved in robbing citizens after intercepting them during the recent Eid holidays.
In the other incident, Ravi Road police attempted to stop two men riding a motorcycle without a registration number plate near Batti Chowk.
The suspects allegedly sped away, prompting a police chase. During the pursuit, the suspects reportedly opened fire on the police, but lost control over their motorbike and fell to the ground.
