ISLAMABAD: To provide houses to the government servants, Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) has registered about 20,000 employees. Director Finance FGEHF Ahmed Taimoor Nasir said on Monday that the membership drive was initiated with a prime objective of providing housing units to the state employees under the government’s ambitious plan. “The scheme will help overcome housing backlog that has been affecting a significant number of employees for the last several years,” he added. Under the scheme, every registered employee would get an opportunity to have a house in the federal capital, which has so far remained an elusive dream for many. Federal government employees in different scales have submitted registration forms with set amount for each category. Nasir said that the registered employees would be able to get plots and apartments or flats of their own choice on a “first come, first served basis”. To a question he said, the registered employees would be able to apply for 3,886 plots in Bhara Kahu, 2,902 flats in G-13 and 2,544 flats along the Murree Expressway respectively.
