Naqvi, Sharjeel agree on closer Centre-Sindh cooperation

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Thursday agreed that stronger cooperation and coordination between the federal and Sindh governments would help address public issues more effectively and promote better governance and service delivery.
During a meeting in the federal capital, the two leaders discussed law and order, inter-provincial cooperation, drug eradication, and improvement of public services.
They also held detailed discussions on narcotics prevention and law and order in Karachi and other major cities of Sindh.
Interior Minister Naqvi congratulated the Sindh Senior Minister for successful operations against dacoits and criminals in the katcha areas. He said that Sindh Police had shown bravery, professionalism and resolve in challenging conditions, playing a commendable role in restoring peace.
He assured that the federal government would extend all possible cooperation to maintain law and order and curb drugs.
Sharjeel Inam Memon said effective coordination between the federation and provinces is the best way to tackle national challenges. He said that all institutions and governments should work together on matters of national interest, adding that the Sindh government would intensify efforts to eliminate crime, ensure peace, and protect the public. Both ministers agreed to further strengthen liaison between the Centre and Sindh to resolve public issues.
