DERA GHAZI KHAN:

A tourist from Sakhi Sarwar was shot dead following a minor dispute at Fort Munro, a popular hill station and tourist destination in southern Punjab, triggering panic among visitors and raising concerns about security at the resort.

Police and rescue sources said Muhammad Imran Hajbani, a resident of Sakhi Sarwar, had travelled to Fort Munro with friends for sightseeing. The incident reportedly occurred at Anari Hill, where he became involved in a minor altercation with local individuals.

Police said the argument escalated and gunfire was allegedly opened, leaving Imran critically injured.

Upon receiving information about the incident, personnel of the Balochistan Levies-style Border Military Police (BMP) and rescue teams rushed to the scene and shifted the injured man to the Trauma Centre of Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital in Dera Ghazi Khan.

However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Following legal formalities and a post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to the family.
