Traffic police to check overcharging, violations on Eid

City Traffic Police have launched a an operation against transporters charging excessive fares ahead of Eidul Azha and have formed dedicated squads to inspect vehicles across the city.
Officials said strict action will be taken against passenger vehicles involved in overloading, while citizens have been advised to report complaints on the traffic helpline.
Awareness campaigns are also being conducted at all major transport terminals to inform passengers of their rights.
Traffic Police said exploitation of passengers in any form will not be tolerated. They added that dangerous driving on roads will also face strict legal action, while one-wheeling and reckless riding are being dealt with firmly across the city.
Officials further stated that action is being taken against zigzag driving and overspeeding as part of the Eid traffic enforcement drive.
A comprehensive Eid traffic management plan has also been issued to ensure smooth flow of traffic across Faisalabad.
Under the plan, traffic staff will remain deployed at all Eid congregations, while additional personnel will be stationed at recreational sites and cattle markets to manage increased public movement.
Traffic Police said special arrangements have been made to regulate heavy rush at major livestock markets, where dedicated duty squads will monitor traffic flow and prevent congestion.
The department reiterated its commitment to ensuring public safety and urged citizens to strictly follow traffic rules, cooperate with officials and avoid violations during the Eid holidays to ensure smooth and safe travel across the city
