CM calls markhorsymbol of national pride

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has said that the markhor is a symbol of Pakistan's national pride, natural heritage and identity, stressing that its protection is vital for wildlife conservation, environmental balance and future generations.
In his message on the occasion of World Markhor Day, the chief minister said that illegal hunting, climate change and the destruction of natural habitats pose serious threats to the species and require collective and sustained efforts to address.
He said the Sindh government is committed to the protection of wildlife and the promotion of environment-friendly policies across the province. He added that the markhor is not only the national animal but also represents strength, resilience and Pakistan's rich natural heritage.
CM Shah added that the protection of wildlife plays an important role in promoting tourism, supporting the local economy and maintaining ecological balance.
He said World Markhor Day serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to safeguard natural resources and wildlife for future generations.
