KARACHI:

A training session was organised under the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) for Eidul Azha operations to strengthen sanitation arrangements and ensure effective waste management across the province.

The session was held under the supervision of Managing Director SSWMB Tariq Ali Nizamani and attended by Board Secretary Nawroz Abbasi, Executive Director Operations Ahsan Raza, motivational speaker Aroosa Mohsin, environmental specialist Humaira, along with general managers of all operational companies and senior officers. Supervisors from all seven districts also participated.

The training focused on improving arrangements for lifting animal waste, sanitation operations, public awareness, and coordination between field staff and citizens during Eidul Azha. Officials said the objective was to ensure efficient service delivery and maintain a clean and pollution-free environment during the festive period.

Speaking on the occasion, SSWMB MD Tariq Ali Nizamani said waste management operations must be aligned with the population, geography and requirements of each union council. He stressed the need to enhance technical capacity, coordination and communication for better service delivery.

He said this year's Eidul Azha arrangements would be improved compared to previous years, adding that continuous learning and institutional improvement were essential for progress.

"Those nations progress that learn from experience and focus on solving problems rather than letting them grow," he said, adding that proper training of field staff in behaviour and communication with citizens was equally important for improving performance.
