NAB fugitive arrested abroad
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials have claimed a major development in a housing scam case with UAE authorities arresting a fugitive, Muhammad Qasim Khani on the basis of an international Red Notice.
According to NAB, the suspect is wanted in a housing fraud involving over Rs1.4 billion allegedly misappropriated from around 295 victims.
Officials said UAE authorities have requested extradition documents from Pakistan, initiating the legal process for his possible repatriation.
The suspect is accused of being the main figure in the scam involving the sale of non-existent plots and false investment promises. Two project directors had been arrested in Pakistan, while Khan had been living abroad.
