Road crash near cattle market claims two lives

A man and his son were killed in a road accident near Machhiwal cattle market on Tuesday while they were reportedly on their way to purchase sacrificial animals for Eidul Azha.

According to Rescue 1122 sources, the tragic accident occurred near the Machhiwal cattle market when a speeding Hiace van hit a motorcycle carrying the two victims. As a result of the collision, both the father and son sustained critical injuries and died on the spot.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Razzaq and his son Hammad, residents of Latt Bhattian area.

Rescue 1122 teams and police rushed to the scene after receiving information about the accident. Rescue officials attempted to provide medical assistance and shift the injured, but both victims had already succumbed to their injuries.

Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred due to overspeeding. The impact of the collision was so severe that the motorcycle was completely destroyed.

The incident cast a pall of gloom over the area, while scenes of grief were witnessed when the bodies reached the victims' home.

Family members and relatives broke down in tears, while several women reportedly fainted due to shock and grief.
