Man announces blackbuck's sacrifice

LAHORE:

The Punjab Wildlife Rangers have arrested a resident of Lahore for allegedly announcing the sacrifice of blackbucks on Eidul Azha and recovered seven rare blackbucks from him during a raid.

According to wildlife officials, the accused, identified as Usman Afzal, a resident of Bagbanpura, had shared videos on social media claiming that he would sacrifice a blackbuck on Eidul Azha.

Acting on the directions of Additional Chief Wildlife Ranger Mudassar Hassan, Assistant Chief Wildlife Ranger Lahore Muhammad Waseem Khan obtained search warrants from the court and led a raid at the suspect's residence along with a wildlife team.

Wildlife authorities said a case was being registered against the accused at the relevant police station.

Following court orders, all recovered blackbucks were shifted to Lahore Safari Zoo for protection and care.
