Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and security forces conducted a targeted operation in Jhal Magsi on Thursday, resulting in the killing of five terrorists in an intense exchange of fire. Weapons, ammunition, and communication equipment were recovered from the slain militants' possession.

According to CTD officials, the operation was launched on the basis of intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists in the area. As soon as the security forces approached, the terrorists opened fire, prompting an effective retaliatory response that led to the elimination of all five militants.

The slain terrorists were wanted in multiple high-profile cases, including attempts to blow up railway tracks, the targeted killing of passengers on the national highway, and other serious terrorism-related incidents.

In a related development, terrorists attacked the Saadatabad Lashari police check post under Gandawah police station in Jhal Magsi, setting the check post on fire. The militants also fired on the Kotra police station; however, no casualties were reported in either incident. Police and security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the attackers.
